Constance McMillen is an 18 year-old lesbian teenager from Fulton, MS who made national headlines recently when her high school chose to cancel its prom rather than let Constance attend with her girlfriend and wear a tuxedo.

Then, when the school was ordered to put on another event for the students, the parent body actively worked to exclude Constance and several other students (including several learning disabled students) from the festivities. A lawsuit filed by the ACLU is currently in the courts on Constance's behalf.

Constance has been openly "out" as lesbian since middle school and has been the target of much malicious, hate-filled and threatening behavior. We applaud Constance's decision to press ahead with a lawsuit that places blame squarely on the heads of the adults responsible for her wellbeing.
